2019 Town Day June 1st at Sanborn House 1-2pm |
We plan to play at the Sanborn House on June 1st, 1-2pm, for Town Day festivities. See song book at right, we can always add or update the list, but these are "favorites" that we should try to play without depending on the sheet music.

2018 Red Kettle for Salvation Army Bell Ringing - Dec 8th, 12:30-1:30![]()
|
We are booked for Sat Dec 8th, 12:30-1:30 out in front of the starbucks -- see https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080948aba928aa8-bell4 for details
if the weather is nice we can play and sing if the weather is too cold or wet (snowy?) we will just sing some carols - I'll bring a boombox or something -- if you have a battery powered boombox and/or CD player that might be a great option - if you have a singalong holiday CD I will try to get the words printed for handouts (for us and passers by). I will post the list of songs from the attached songbook |

Getting ready for spring --

December 21, Wednesday 6pm we will sing happy 102nd birthday to Stella.
|
If you don't already have the location send me an email at hello@shukulele.com - we have sung happy birthday since she was a young 99. The PDF to the left shows you how to play Happy Birthday in many keys. There are three chords, and depending on the range of your singers, you should adapt and play along. If you can remember the C-G7-F and G-D7-C combinations, you should be all set for almost any audience and celebration.

at Jenks Senior Center –sign up at front desk at the Center. The Jenks will offer a pilot program of ukulele lessons taught by a local resident on Fridays, December 13, 20, and 27 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. The ukulele is easy to learn and it is a very “accessible” instrument, with a large portion of popular music based on learning four basic chords. Look at the following video online to see an example of the four chords making up many popular songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I .
There will be no charge for these classes and the instructors will bring extra ukuleles to the first class for people to try and see which instrument size and type is right for them. So come join us to play and sing, learn something new while having fun.
Check out the following videos online to see a performance of the local ukulele players at the Winchester Farmer’s Market in July and October: Fourth of July patriotic sing along and October tribute to John Lennon.
